Update servlet API version to 4.0.1 Gerrit currently depends on javax.servlet.servlet-api:3.1.0. Google’s internal build uses javax.servlet.servlet-api:4.0.1 for Gitiles and related components. To reduce friction when aligning the Maven dependency graph between Gerrit, Gitiles, and JGit as part of the bzlmod / rules_jvm_external migration, upgrade Gerrit’s servlet API dependency to 4.0.1 to match the version used internally at Google. This does not require code changes: servlet-api 4.0.1 still provides the javax.servlet.* packages, so existing imports continue to compile unchanged (no javax.* -> jakarta.* namespace change). JGit will be updated in a follow-up change to use the same version, allowing all three projects to share a consistent dependency. On Debian/Ubuntu run:
apt-get update && apt-get install gerrit=<version>-<release>
NOTE: release is a counter that starts with 1 and indicates the number of packages that have been released with the same version of the software.
On CentOS/RedHat run:
yum clean all && yum install gerrit-<version>[-<release>]
On Fedora run:
dnf clean all && dnf install gerrit-<version>[-<release>]

To run a CentOS 8 based Gerrit image:
docker run -p 8080:8080 gerritcodereview/gerrit[:version]-centos8
To run a Ubuntu 20.04 based Gerrit image:
docker run -p 8080:8080 gerritcodereview/gerrit[:version]-ubuntu20
NOTE: release is optional. Last released package of the version is installed if the release number is omitted.
